Founded by Everett Watrous in 1986, CMM Systems, Inc. revolutionized the metrology industry by offering a range of services for Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and Optical Comparators. The company expanded its offerings over the years, including the sale of Renishaw products and various optical measuring devices.

In 1998, they entered the used CMM machine sales market, refurbishing and retrofitting each system with new software. In 2005, CMM Systems, Inc. responded to the demand for advanced metrology systems by introducing new CMMs from Nikon Metrology, accompanied by the advanced CMM-Manager software package. They further expanded in 2011 by offering cutting-edge COORD3 Metrology machines, solidifying their position as a leader in the industry.
